Get to Know Us

Bill Taylor, founder of Sports Conflict Lab, brings over 20 years of success as a collegiate head coach. After navigating a deeply challenging conflict later in his coaching career, he realized that he lacked the skillset to manage conflict successfully. To fix that deficit, he pursued a Master’s degree in Conflict Management and both filled that skill gap and realized that critical skill gap was common throughout the world of sports.

He launched Sports Conflict Lab to deliver one of the most overlooked but vital tools in sports: conflict training and strategy.

In sports, organizations invest thousands of hours and millions of dollars in training, facilities, gear, psychology, nutrition, travel, recovery, and team culture. But all of it—every dollar and every hour—can unravel in a moment if conflict is ignored or mishandled.

Conflict is the greatest threat to success in sports—and also the greatest opportunity. Successfully managed conflict is the key to better relationships, stronger culture and higher levels of success.

It’s often a blind spot, but it doesn't have to be.

Sports Conflict Lab exists to fill that gap. We help teams, leaders, and organizations turn conflict into a competitive advantage—strengthening relationships, culture, performance, accountability, long-term results and more.

We exist to help protect your investment in the game—and unlock your full potential.

Bill Taylor
Founder & CEO

Bill is passionate about helping athletes, coaches, and organizations unlock their potential by mastering the mental, emotional, and relational dynamics that drive performance. He holds a Master of Arts in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee — a foundation that fuels his mission to build healthier, higher-performing sports cultures and relationships.

Over a remarkable 28-year coaching career — including 22 years as a collegiate head coach and administrator — Bill’s leadership has produced a National Championship (NAIA), 16 Conference Titles (12 NCAA Division I, 4 NAIA), and 28 Coach of the Year honors. More than trophies, his true legacy lies in the transformation of the two collegiate programs he led — turning them from struggling teams into perennial championship contenders and national academic leaders known for their high character and commitment to excellence in all things.

A lifelong learner, Bill is a certified facilitator, Marshall Goldsmith Executive Coach, MPM Mental Performance Mastery Coach, and a Level 2 USATF coach. He is also SafeSport certified and proudly served in the Washington Army National Guard as a 19D Cavalry Scout.

Born and raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, Bill’s journey has taken him across the country — from Nashville, Tennessee, to Apollo, Pennsylvania, and now to Fishers, Indiana, where he lives with his amazing wife and business partner, Tabetha. Their family continues the tradition of excellence and curiosity: their oldest daughter is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin–Madison after earning her degree at Purdue University, while their youngest daughter is also a proud Boilermaker, studying Agricultural Communications, Marketing, and Sales. (Boiler Up!)

Bill brings the same championship mindset, compassion, and commitment that shaped his coaching career into the work of Sports Conflict Lab — helping sports professionals navigate conflict, elevate leadership, and build cultures that win with integrity.
